ABOUT

Bug clothing was founded in East London by Amy Ward. Seeking the objective to create garments by hand that reflect the ideology that we should all buy less and admire quality and consideration over quantity. Using only natural fibres as the foundation of their garments, each piece will be slightly different as they are made from their hands on a very small scale. The materials they use are deadstock from designer factory waste, so although they can never be 100% sure of the composition, they make every effort to ensure that it is natural. This way they aren’t contributing to the reproduction of new materials and instead making use of excess. Their belief is that clothing should be comfortable and purposeful, without faulting on style, so they design garments that can be worn for years to come, by a number of shapes + sizes, with the hope that you will cherish and mend your garment over the years. They believe that the things they choose to surround themselves with matter, and what better place to start than what we wear. Everything is cut and constructed out of their humble studio in Hackney. Inspiration is sought from the people they meet, the clothing they wear and the places they find themselves.
